{"id":122,"date":"2018-05-09T12:47:02","date_gmt":"2018-05-09T09:47:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/harrikemppainen.com\/en\/?p=122"},"modified":"2018-05-09T13:03:08","modified_gmt":"2018-05-09T10:03:08","slug":"project-politics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/harrikemppainen.com\/en\/2018\/05\/project-politics\/","title":{"rendered":"Project politics"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Politics isn&#8217;t about truth it&#8217;s about belief<\/h1>\n<p>Politician&#8217;s most important skill today is to make you believe and if you believe politician then you are with the politician.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/rKAI4WjtJnY\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3>Art works<\/h3>\n<p>Art works take a piece of text from politics. Text can be a tweet, part of a speech or part of a political document. Couple of sentences is best. It&#8217;s short to read and understand and resulting video is nice and short.<\/p>\n<p>Text is translated to instructions. Instructions guide what kind of transformations are done to starting image. Each instruction has parameters that tell which transformation is used and how. There are millions of variations. Different text creates a different set of transformations. Outcome is a set of images that are combined as a video.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m still exploring how to use the text, should it run along the video (current text on both sides doesn&#8217;t really work) or not and what aspect ratio to use. All that will settle with experiments to see what works and what doesn&#8217;t. I&#8217;m not going to run out of usable sources.<\/p>\n<h2>Instructions are glitches<\/h2>\n<p>All this ties back to what <a href=\"http:\/\/harrikemppainen.com\/en\/2018\/04\/glitch-art-a-photographers-day-off\/\">I have done lately around glitch art<\/a>. Each instruction specifies a type of a glitch with parameters that guide how glitch is applied to the image. I have actually combined similar glitches and added parameters to control them.<\/p>\n<h2>What next?<\/h2>\n<p>I will add new glitches and make new videos as interesting events happen. Most parts of the process are automated and making a new video takes about an hour or two.
