I was in Venice for two weeks at August 2016. One big motivation to go to Venice was Hugo Pratt’s Fable in Venice. I thought I could follow Corto Maltese’s tracks and take photo’s from same places he visited. Quite soon I realized that Pratt used real places and scenes from Venice, but they were taken all around Venice and they didn’t make a real followable route. Album is still full of interesting bits and pieces to follow up. So I got interested on various symbols and stories inside the story. I read a couple of tourist guides and perused wonderful, but really hard to find ‘The secret VENICE of CORTO MALTESE’ by Guido Fuga and Lele Vianello. All in all I kinda forgot a overly planned approach for Venice and just ventured around with a few must see places like Peggy Guggenheim, Piraeus Lion or Acqua Alta bookstore.
I took about 2000 photographs and some of those will be introduced on these pages. I publish them at twitter on @Harri_JK account, but you can find a bit more wordy introduction here.
I sincerely hope I will have another chance to go to Venice and have a bit more planned visit. And take a lots more photographs with more stories.
